Harper Adams confirms launch plans for new courses and programmes at Station Quarter

ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ has confirmed its launch plans for new courses and programmes at The Quad in Telford’s Station Quarter. 

Exciting new short courses in robotics, data science, e-business marketing, organisational change, sustainability and project management are to be delivered at the Harper Adams site this Autumn. 

The courses will be the University’s initial offering at Station Quarter, alongside a range of STEM-related activities to support local schools, colleges and communities. 

These will be the cornerstone of the University’s first courses at The Quad – with a suite of innovative new technology degrees in Applied Data Science, Digital Business Management and Robotics, Automation and Mechatronic Engineering, co-created by industry partners, launched for entry in September 2025.  

Harper Adams Vice-Chancellor Professor Ken Sloan said: “Both this Autumn’s short courses and the new degrees follow extensive research and discussions as this new base for Harper Adams has developed.  

“Indeed, the new collaboration with Telford College and Telford & Wrekin Council has received overwhelmingly positive reactions to initial outreach and marketing in the local area. 

“Our work shaping and developing courses for both this year and next has shown there is a clear need for a Higher Education provider who is committed to Telford’s town centre and to its community. It is clear, already, that this is paying dividends in Telford in terms of recognition for the University and our work. 

“Encouraging more students locally to appreciate the opportunities that are available for them at Harper Adams was one of the initial motivating factors for us to begin work on this development, and it remains the driver for each of the courses we will be delivering at Station Quarter.  

“99.2 per cent of our full-time students secure employment or further study within 15 months of graduating and we want this opportunity to be readily available to more students from Telford and across our region.” 

Students who enrol on short courses this Autumn will learn about robotics, data science, e-business marketing, organisational change and sustainability, all skills that local employers have said are required for their future competitiveness. 

Professor Sloan added: “Parmjit Chima, as our Executive Academic Director, has built up considerable local and regional connections which have further strengthened the links which Harper Adams has with our local industries. 

“Our work with these businesses at Telford has been aimed at addressing digital and technology skills shortages, and we remain committed to developing local talent. 

This work will continue in the coming months and beyond as we begin to welcome our latest students to our Telford site. 

“We look forward to opening our new space with Telford College and Telford & Wrekin Council in September.”
